Strike at St. Lawrence Seaway: what you need to know
On October 22nd, 2023, over 360 seaway workers at the St. Lawrence Seaway went on strike, including Unifor members in Ontario and Quebec. Strike-related delays can cause small businesses to lose sales, revenue, and inventory. Unless the parties negotiate a deal immediately through collective bargaining, CFIB is urging the federal government to enact back-to-work legislation so that businesses are not unfairly punished by circumstances outside of their control.
