With a draft agreement in place for the Comprehensive Economic Trade Agreement (CETA) between Canada and the European Union, Canadian businesses (big and small) may soon be able to access the largest single market in the world. Closer to home, the Council of Atlantic Premiers is working to reduce barriers to trade within our region. In January of 2015, the Council of Atlantic Premiers announced a new partnership within Atlantic Canada called the Red Tape Reduction Partnership. The goal of the Partnership is to help create a more competitive economic environment, to streamline business regulations across the region and to help increase job creation and economic growth with the ultimate goal of facilitating trade within Atlantic Canada.
