In 2022, VIA Rail carried close to 3.3 million passengers, with sustainable mobility being an integral part of its vision to be the smarter way to move people.
VIA Préférence program
Whether you travel every week or a few times a year, your trips with VIA Rail can always be rewarded.
- Get more points in more ways: Earn points on eligible fees and optional products and services—like baggage and fees for travelling with your pet—in addition to your tickets and travel passes.
- Share your points with friends and family: You can transfer points from one VIA Préférence account to another up to 5 times a year.
- Redeem sooner: The number of points you need for a trip is based on the published fare at the time of booking. That means when the fares are lower, so is the number of points required.
